7th and 8th March Saturday, SundayI conclude that today is Let's-Meet-Weird-People day.1) Was conveniently minding my own business on a bench at Bedok Interchange when the old man on my left stuck out his hand right smack in front of my poor face and demanded/ hollered as follows:Rude psycho: GEI WO LIANG KUAI QIAN (give me $2 dollars in direct translation)!! Well well well. Instinctive primal reaction for anyone would be to scowl, get up, and storm away confidently hissing under one's breath. But nooooo. Me? I retorted (don't ask me why) back like that...Me: Wo Mei You Liang Kuai Qian(i don't have 2 bucks). Rude psycho: GEI WO YI KUAI QIAN (Give me 1 dollar)!!Me: Wo mei you yi kuai qian, zhi you liang mao (ive got no 1 dollar, only 20 cents). Yes, my innate reaction was to hope that he'd stop all that nonsense and leave me alone with my nice quiet spot on the red bench. Oh boy was I wrong....Rude psycho: GEI WO!! (with palm still in my face)Me: (frowning, I dug out 2 10 cent coins, dumped them in his eeky palm)Rude psycho: LIANG MAO QIAN ER YI AH?!Me: (in awe and shock at the crazy man) AH! And then I stalked off. I thought I was kind enough to entertain the rude psycho but nooooo, he had to demand for more money. mad man.2) I met the crazy man who keeps shouting 'DIE! MATI!' to invisible people that somehow haunt his very soul. *shudder* The bad side of Singapore. eeks. 9th March MondayAfter work today, went to Cineleisure to catch Sunshine with my dearest Roach. =) The Rachels. Woohoo. Haven't seen her since 2nd of march! Caught Ben tan and he still looked good haha. I was loitoring around the entrance waiting for Her majesty Roach to arrive (hur hur) when I heard someone call out my name. Guess what! It was the ever-pretty JASMINE TYE! It felt good that she recognised me. My chung cheng and VJ senior! Whee. And she knows Roach too. So the 3 of us were chatting right at the entrance of Cine. She was there to shoot a show with 2 boys... she's currently one of the hosts in a Kids Central programme.Movie review: Sunshine was good at first. The cinematics and technical aspects were inspiring. But towards the end, the plot had a twist and the show became more of a thriller. Boys would like it I think. There are less than 1 second flashes of people's faces and pictures towards the climax of the movie and we thought, at first, that the projector had problems. haha. That effect was excellent cos' the audience were all aroused and anxious. =)Moving on! The Rachels decided to stroll down Orchard Road to do some retail therapy. So off we trotted down towards Far East from Cine, only, to our horror, to catch Steven Lim! That sicko who stipped infront of Singapore Idol judges and went around town plucking eyebrows for people. It was absolutely hilarious when he asked if we remembered him and roach nonchalently shouted, "YAH the eyebrow plucker!" We were ever so desperately trying to wriggle our way out of his clutches, cos' he kept pestering us to reveal our age. He even asked If I was malay or chinese. Haha. So! He whipped out photos of models he talent scouted to attempt to entice us into signing up with him. Good god the models were hideous. Scary looking Japanese wannabes. Then he went on to say he needs fresh new faces like us... if we wanted to be famous we ought to start by signing up with him. so The Rachels, in sync, shouted, "we don't wanna be famous!"haha. interesting day.
