Today, I have spent the whole day at Moonstruck again. It is now and forever, my favorite people-watching/studying/stoning/coffee-loving place in Urbana-Champaign.
Dearest Farand's 'last' day at work today and i heard from Jonnie he got wasted! But I Skyped him and he looked perfectly alright! Wish I could be there to join in the awesome, crazy fun! How I miss Cass, Cyn, Blues, Darren, Far, Jonnie.
Sis and cousins went to F1 racing. Am uber happy that they all seem to be having the time of their lives, but there's this nagging soreness jabbing at my heart, screaming and highlighting my absence from Singapore.
I remember my Daddy asking me if I could convert my degree to an overseas one, and he claimed that he has the financial ability to fund my education. Albeit job opportunities abroad are abundant and full of awesome prospects compared to teeny tiny Singapore, I have
zilch courage to be away from all my lovelies for a good 3-4 years. I fear my loves forgetting and moving on with their lives without me, fear change in itself, fear the loss of familiarity, fear risks. All these basically robbed me of any chances to be a
high-flyer (like so many here, vying desperately to grab abit of that delicious juicy pie), because I adore simplicity.
To wake up in the morning and know my family will be somewhere in my new house during the weekends,
To know the weather will be non-erratic for forever in Singapore,
To be able to drop by my favorite ice cream shop any time, any day, any moment,
To hold Kenn's hands and hear his voice whenever I yearn to,
To grab coffees and
tete-a-tete sessions with Cyn, Wei, Farand,
To feel sane in dealing with and basking in real, genuine, non-backstabbing/manipulative relationships with my lovelies...
If only the scenery in Singapore were like that of Urbana's, then life, would be perfect.
However the case, I do not regret coming over to U of I, where i know I've made friends with amazing people like Kailing, who is my new-found bestie here. The sweetest thing/wifey who somehow randomly spouts the same responses/nonsense as I do, the lady who has the most wonderful heart ever. Zhen Hao, whom I am oh-so grateful to, when I'm in need of a ride at night, need someone to complain to about my rough days, and for making my sore throat better with teas. I heart all you guys! =)

I feel the urge to do more shopping, but Imma be too broke if I continue doing that the way I do.
Im starting to enjoy the mundane life in UIUC, with pretty houses accompanying me on my walk home, with aromatic coffee to warm my cold hands and awaken my sleepy soul, the perfect breeze grazing past my cheeks in the afternoons this season, people-watching at Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe with maple leaves turning brown in the background..
And these little things in life can only last before hell week starts.
I wish all my lovelies back home could join me here.

Zomg Hell week starts the week of my birthday. Countless tests, assignments, presentations. Why Why Why!!
The other day Kailing and I walked past a squirrel, at close proximity, which isnt normal cos' em' little furry things dash off the moment they sense a human being breathe within 1 mile radius of their tails or something. So, this teeny animal was oblivious to our presence, happily gorging itself on some weird nut in its paw. Maybe its squirrel senses tingled, and before we knew it, it dashed toward the direction of a tree, smashed its head right into it, BOUNDED OFF the trunk, picked itself up at lightning speed, and ran for dear life in the opposite direction. HAHA. Stupid squirrel. Kailing
wifey berated me for laughing for a good 5 minutes. Teeheehee.
I adore hanging out in coffeehouses while studying, especially at MoonStruck Chocolate cafe 2nd level, where I get to sit beside the biggest glass window ever, overlooking random passer-bys. Oh How I miss people-watching at Siglap's Starbucks, and chatting with them familiar, friendly baristas!
On a side note, the world is going crazy with Merrill Lynch and AIG declaring bankruptcy. Narghhh.
Alriteys, off to class now!

Suddenly, being in a relationship seems disappointing.

Am sitting in the library waiting for my next class, using this bit of precious time to do up an entry since I don't seem to have time for that, or anything else for that matter, anymore!
School has been busy, tons of readings to catch up on everyday. Whoever said studying in America is relaxing, is obviously lying! College kids here seem ever-so-prepared for every class they go to. I am very much still surprised.
Weather is erratic, ranging from as low as 8 degrees to 17 degrees in the day. At nights, everywhere plunges into icy darkness, where chilly sharp bits of abrupt cold winds attack your bare skin. Meh. Afternoon breezes and morning runs here are awesome, though! =)
In Urbana, it is quaint, and I love it. Pretty houses like those in Wisteria Lane, friendly people who stop their cars anywhere just to let pedestrians cross a teeny road, and all that jazz. Was pleasantly surprised when I went jogging last weekend in the morning, and found lazy mama cows bumming around in their little pen on my right. Further down, baby cows were stuffing their little faces with their feed.
(meant to irritate farand): AWWWW, so preciousss!
Haven't been able to get through to Kenn's phone lately =( Im still missing every single person back home!!
Alriteys, till next time!

I cannot wait for New York trip to arrive! Manhattan city especially.
Yiling decided to drag me to Canopy Club, together with Dickson and Eugene at midnight this morning. It was packed, and had horrid music, and lots of asian girls grinding boys. Dry humping included. I was uber shocked, by the place and culture were eye-openers. I officially conclude that clubbing
ain't mah thang one bit. --> farand, I am imitating your accent! =)Wish I could be back in Singapore to celebrate birthdays with my sis, mum, dad and kenn. Oh well, life moves on back home, and in U.S of A!

zomg ive spent a bomb on shopping for myself, and have gotten so many other goodies for everyone else. The list goes on though. Each present is personally handpicked by me and those of you out there who will get some, should be super honored!
My pocket's gonna have a burnt hole.
Tomorrow, more shopping at Marketplace and Walmart. Cannot wait for New York, which means one step towards going home sooooon!
