Today, I banged my toe on Bestie's humongous luggage bag that was lying sadly on the floor, and realised half my toe nail detached itself from my pudgy big toe flesh. Lindy was grossed out, kailing couldnt stop squealing and kept shouting about her desire to retch... this was followed by Papa Xiong's rush down to the room to join in the commotion.
There I sat holding my foot, inspecting my big toe, and demanding widly to Zong about what am I to do with the black detached toe nail of mine. While my 2 lovely friends kept squealing away, Zong calmly suggested remedies, followed by my decision to cut half the nail off so it wouldnt protrude outwards/ upwards. I can still go running like that! Whoopdeedo.
What a day. Kailing's cooking rocks. Zong has introduced me to a newly-improved fav of mine: Starbuck's Green Tea Latte, no melon syrup, extra matcha powder. I am now at Starbucks and sipping on that, IT IS LOVE!

Today, Bestie woke me up and excitedly ordered me to look out my window. And there it was, the most breath-taking sight in my life, with white snow covering every inch of my backyard, every tree branch, even on the bins, which were standing there in cold solitude.
Haha and I stepped out of the house to head to SHerman for a gym session with Zong, and smiled happily to myself cos' it looked as if I just stepped into a movie scene and the snow-covered trees, pathways, grass patches, roads, cars, were oh too surreal.
But I am annoyed at the fact that snow is not like cotton and they melt horribly into slippery puddles of water. Me, having no car, needed to walk to a bus stop 10 mins away.Goodness Gracious, the walk seemed like an hour, while I desperately tried to fit my footsteps on snow patches into those that had been trodded on before. I nearly slipped and died a million times over.
Conclusion? These snowy scenes are awesome to gasp and go ga-ga over, but not nice to walk on, or make manual paths out of. I rather stay inside, where it is warm and fuzzy, have a cuppa hot chocolate or 2, and admire the picturesque scenery
afar. I do not like to play snowball fights, or build a snowman, unless I am heavily armoured in waterproof fabrics.
Oh no. I sound like my mummy.
I MISS YOU MUMMY!

NYC was a blast... great city, great company, awesome in every single way =). Best trip I had ever.
On a side note, I hope my mummy's will be fine soon.
Happy Birthday, Grandma!

I abhor tests, exams, anything close to deciding whether i pass or fail my subjects here.
Graaaa!Favorite class: SPCM 113 because of the funny, outspoken classmates, because I get to hide behind them and doodle/space out and don't even bother listening because EVERYTHING discussed is lifted off the amazing textbook.
AHMAHGAWD I have ballooned to the size of a whale. Whatever happened to the plan of losing weight?! *stabs self*
I am disgruntled now.

Today, it was predicted by trusty-ole' weather forecasts that it will rain flurries. Yes, Flurries.
Sounds oh too cute.
They are snow flakes formed from 1/10 the size of a normal Singapore raindrop. Bestie and I were dressed for the exciting little occasion, because flurries are, well, fun and cute to be surrounded by! =) We got our gloves and big fluffy coats piled on top of us, and did catch a few flurry specks zip past our eyes. Before I knew it, Kailing shouted, "OW!" I happily blamed her painful predicament on her big eyes, huge enough to catch rain drops. This was not till I felt what seemed like pebbles smacking my cheeks and coat, did I realise it was raining mini ice. I quote Kailing, "It ICED today!"
So we had a hella time laughing before we sat down for a fantastic lip-smacking sushi dinner. Bestie seems happy today and not in pain anymore. Maybe it was because of her Ralph Lauren sunglasses that she got for less than $90USD.
Shao Chun, I am jealous you are frolicking with Giogio in San Francisco, half-nakey on the grass, while the rest of us are freezing our asses off in Champaign.
I love hanging out with my Bestie =D.
But I miss everyone back in Singapore too much.
I will be back sooooooon =)

Today, I am sad.
I knew people would probably get used to not having me around.
But of all people,
You?
Love

So! Halloween came and went, no gunshot threats,
zilch.
Boring me decided to stay in with my Bestie, and bumming around was cool =P.
Milwaukee didn't happen, and left. Zong, Bestie and I decided to go down to Borders, where I got awesome DVDs
(I love!) and aromatic Green Tea Latte, popped by Meijers to sweep out cheAP candies
(after-Halloween mega candy sale!) , caught a heart-wrenching,tear-jerking, applause-worthy Angelina Jolie/Clint Eastwood film -->
The Changeling. It truly is worth more than what I paid for, with Bestie and I sobbing our guts out.
I apologise to the people around me who thought my squeals and snorts were oh-too-noisy!Then we had expensive Jap food at Ko Fusion on the way home, with uncalled-for stabbing glances from waitresses and patronisers at 3 of our gargantuan Meijers
tak glam shopping bags. Hur hur.
Daylight Saving kicked in and now, Illinois is officially 14 hrs behind my lovely Singapore!
I realise it's sometimes not the places you go to that make one really happy and satisfied, it's the awesome company you hang out with which makes all the difference. Now, I cannot wait for the 3 of us to hang out at New York City!!
Another step closer to heading homeee. Awesomeness in its highest form!
